Tips and Tricks For Staying Warm While You Are Riding:
O'Neil Pyscho One 4/3 Wetsuit (or any wetsuit at a 4/3)
Snow Goggles (there really is a lady out there riding in snow goggles to keep her eyes from watering; this is the dedication we like to see)
Silicon Bathing Cap for Long Hair
Neoprene gloves
Some people believe that, "warming up the wetsuit on the back swim deck before entering the frigid waters" might help you start your set warm... if you catch what we are saying.
Tips and Tricks For Staying Warm While Being On The Boat:
BOAT HEATERS. Seriously game changing.
Blanket that connects to the heaters.
Sweats, beanies, wool socks, hoodies. And then the boat heaters under all of that.
Do whatever you can to keep the cockpit dry and closed from the wind; use your wind dam and close your front windshield.
Down Jackets.
And if all else fails.... try taking your boat towards Southern Utah to try and make your season last longer!

It might be time to winterize here in Utah, but we're already getting excited about the 2020 gear we are getting from our manufacturers. We decided to take a look at some of the most exciting new products for 2020 and give you a quick overview of some of the new tech!
The 2020 Ronix Supreme is a brand new wakeboard, with a completely new construction, from Ronix for 2020.
Tyler and Jake were looking for something Ronix's engineers didn’t know would be possible – a combination of an explosive take off, with the feel of their favorite wood park board. The result is the only Sandwich constructed wakeboard in the market, featuring a light and lively Air Core 3 sandwiched with their favorite wood on the outside, wrapped up a in a new Hybrid Continuous middle / 3-Stage outer rockerline.
The result of this construction, is a stronger connection between a rider’s board and the water with effortless transfer off the wake.
Think of the One Vest as an Intuition Liner for your belly.
The 2020 Ronix One Impact Vest combines the custom tailored fit of a BOA system and combines it with one of the most moisture wicking materials we've ever seen.
The BOA system forms to your chest like no other water garment. Redesigned by a Manhattan tailor, dropped into a computer and scaled to fit just the right way. Fine tune this One even more with our BOA system.
The 2020 RXT wakeboard boot features a redesigned Intuition+ liner built on Ronix's new Pro S.O.L.E.: the most advanced footbed in wakeboarding. This footbed features Gen 2 orthotic contours and a material recipe developed to react faster, boost higher and land softer.
The 2020 RXT boot is the first boot created with the Ronix FlexForm heel and toe to enhance the custom fit of our industry exclusive heat moldable Intuition+ liner.
This boot also includes Brainframe technology. Brainframe technology is an exoskeleton that runs the entire length of the boot that increases the boot's longevity and gives you more support than any other boot on the market.
Looking for even more ways to customize your 2020 RXT boots? We are now offering custom lace lock kits that come in a multitude of colors.
The all new 2020 Hyperlite Satellite is hot out of the Satellite Beach Shaping Lab of Scott "Butch" Bouchard. The Satellite delivers unparalleled push down the line, even on the smallest waves thanks to it's concave base. This base allows water to flow more freely under the board meaning more speed and less drag.
Butch has combined the volume of the Satellite with an aggressive shape for high-end slashing and carving. Drop the trailer fins in for a tighter feel and more push or surf without them for a soulful style session. Run down the line and pop big airs with the Satellite shape, guaranteed shredder and fun for the entire crew.
The 2020 Satellite also provides you with unmatched durability thanks to Hyperlite's DuraShell construction which wraps this board in a tough outer shell to give you all the performance of a high end wakesurfer, without the fragility.
The 2020 Hyperlite Satellite comes with 2 fin options, standard. It comes with a 3.5" asymmetrical flex fin, and a 1.75" nubby drop fin. Depending on where you set these fins, you can completely change the way this board feels and performs.
Attach the small fin towards the front for a more loose, fluid feel perfect for nailing those shuvs and spins, or, attach the longer fins to the rear for a more planted, surf style performance.
The surface area of the 2020 HO Hovercraft is comparable to two skis combined!
The 2020 Hovercraft makes standing up and staying up simple and easy. It's a great choice for beginners all the way to experts who want fun surf-inspired open water ski sessions. We even suggest riding them two-up for maximum fun.
For those of us that aren't expert waterskiers, the Hovercraft offers great control and better balance in a waterski that works great at low speeds.
The days of tug-of-war deep water starts are over! The 2020 HO Hovercraft lifts skiers out of the water like they've been given a helium injection thanks to its Widetrack Frame. This frame offers extra stability for easy deep water starts, clear directional getups, less wobble, and less spray in the face!
There are some fantastic new designs, tech updates, and offerings for 2020. We are excited every time we get to open a box and see what innovations our manufacturers have made this year. Be sure to subscribe to our Youtube channel for all the latest in wake and watersports!
]]>The water and the weather aren’t always going to cooperate when you’re out on the lake. Don’t leave your boat’s strength to chance, choose the boat built to withstand all the wind, waves, hail, snow, and rain that can ruin your day out on the lake. Choose the tried, tested, and true Alumacraft lineup with the 2XB hull, standard.
The Alumacraft 2XB Hull is designed with a gullwing shape to give you quicker planing, better handling, better fuel economy, and superior boat control even when the water gets rough.
The 2XB Hull is a one-piece construction making it significantly stronger than the 2 piece design used by Alumacraft’s competitors. This one-piece design is purpose built to minimize failure points giving you peace of mind that your hull will always stand up to whatever gets thrown your way and keep you on the water.
Still concerned about the strength? Alumacraft has improved their hull design’s strength will a second, full-length plate from bow to stern giving you a second layer of protection. This design also gives the hull added rigidity which reduces sound and vibration by minimizing flexing and racking. A more rigid hull also means better handling especially when the going gets rough.
The Alumacraft 2XB hull is assembled using aircraft grade rivets to guarantee a solid bond and give the hull even more added strength.
The one-piece hardened keel of the 2XB hull system improves handling, tracking and control in any water condition.
The aluminum transom is stronger and lighter than a traditional wood transom and helps to minimize racking and vibration as you’re heading out to your favorite fishing holes.
This extra strength allows you to have the most efficient power transfer from your outboard to the water. This more durable mounting surface reduces flexing and twisting when you put the power down on today’s larger, more powerful outboards.
Large reverse dispersal spray rails come standard on every Alumacraft model. These rails deflect backsplash more effectively which will give you a dry ride even when the weather is less than cooperative.
A sharper angled bow rake also ensures a dry ride with an emphasis on smooth re-entry to the water rather than taking a bow shot and soaking yourself and your passengers.
Alumacraft also uses automotive grade paint and clearcoat so you will see less fading over time than many other manufacturers. This keeps your boat looking showroom new for much, much longer.
The 2XB hull is engineered to create the most possible lift, unmatched strength, and better fuel economy so you can enjoy a smooth, dry ride whether you’re chasing lake trout at Flaming Gorge, or wipers at Willard.

Your typical outboard motor could get bound up in weeds, stuck in the mud, or caught up on a submerged obstacle, and when that happens, you'll be on your own for getting your boat back out. Mud motors are the perfect solution to these problems. They're extremely powerful so you'll always have enough torque to push through that mud or cut through those weeds. They're also very durable and made from quality parts to ensure along life. There are two types to choose from: surface-drive motors and long-tail motors. This brief guide will show you the advantages, disadvantages, and proper use of both.
Long-tail motors are easily spotted by their unique and unmistakable shape. They can have a driveshaft up to 72" long, which puts the propeller several feet away from the actual boat itself. These motors are great in the shallowest water and mud. They'll hop right over submerged obstacles, and rarely get bound up in weeds. Some refer to these motors as the "four-wheel drive of boating." The long propeller features a balanced fulcrum, which makes it easier to move the prop or lift it out of the water. If you do get stuck, the long bar of the driveshaft can essentially be used as a pry bar to help pull you out of the mud. In the roughest conditions, these motors always perform admirably. It's worth noting, however, that this type of motor is relatively slow on open water.
Surface-drive motors are another form of mud motor preferred by those who have longer trips in slightly deeper water. Like long-tail motors, surface-drive motors perform very well against mud, weeds, and obstacles. Surface-drive motors have a much shorter driveshaft than long-tail motors. There are advantages and disadvantages to this design. In slightly deeper water, surface-drive motors develop more power and speed, making their top speed as much as 10-15 mph higher than a long-tail motor. The shorter driveshaft doesn't offer quite as much reach during the most rugged conditions. Some say that surface-drive motors are more likely to get stuck in the mud, and because of their design, they offer less leverage for getting out of those situations.
For the 2019 season, Beavertail has announced the release of the new Mag Torque surface drive motors. These motors are the latest innovation from the team at Beavertail. You may wonder what makes the Mag Torque motor different from other surface drives?
Let me start with the weight. Beavertail put the Mag Torque surface drive on a diet shaving 75 pounds. This means less weight in the boat, about the equivalent of a full tank of gas and the battery, specifically less weight on the transom allowing your boat to run shallower and faster.
They started with an aircraft grade aluminum frame and housing. The high strength, lightweight, corrosion resistant alloy (6061-T6) keeps the Mag Torque motors down to their fighting weight (23 hp 177 pounds and 35 hp &40hp 225 pounds) while delivering years of reliability in some of the toughest conditions.
The Mag Torque Surface Drives are easy to operate with one hand, no more fighting the motors and getting a workout on your way to your hunting spot, With the CMC hydraulic trim and tilt the Mag Torque motors will dig in and get you moving. The hydraulics are all self-contained, with a wiper for self-cleaning on the rams and a no-leak seal, making them submersible and corrosion resistant. The Mag Torque motors will deliver years of maintenance free service.
Now the Magic of the Mag Torque series is the magnetic synchronous coupling. Traditionally moving the power of the motor to the prop is done via belts and gears. The magnetic synchronous coupling gets the job done with no loss of power. The magnetic coupling also reduces/prevents vibration transmitting through the drive shaft. Basically, the magnets keep things spinning without power loss and keep the vibration away. This is a dry system (no transmission fluid) that will never have any fluid leaking out and is virtually maintenance free. This system includes REVERSE. That is right reverse is available on all of the Mag Torque series motors including the 23 hp.
For the avid duck hunter that wants to maximize the utility of their duck hunting rig the Mag Torque series is for you. Get the performance of an outboard for the big waters while you enjoy the swamp busting power you need for those skinny waters of Farmington Bay and The Bear River Bird Refuge.
Choosing between these two motor designs will depend on the type of applications you use your boat for and the specific areas you boat in. If you tend to take shorter trips in shallow waters, the long-tail is probably your best bet. Marshes like The Bear River Bird Refuge are often best navigated with a long-tail thanks to its low-speed and exceptional versatility in very shallow water and mud.. Longer trips in the slightly deeper waters of the marsh, across rivers and lakes might be better suited for surface drive motors. Even if you find there are lots of weeds in your area, surface drive boats often have sufficient power to cut right through them.

When you’re looking for the best marine LED lighting products for your new or used boat, Liquid Lumens will provide unparalleled technology and performance that are sure to impress you. From fishing and surfing to wakeboarding or entertaining, your boating needs will be met by the most powerful, advanced marine lighting technology available today. Picky about colors? No problem! Liquid Lumens has a robust product lineup that comes in multiple colors, and their products even have a full RGBW color spectrum light kit, capable of producing 16 different color combinations, giving you more options to match your boat’s individual style.
What differentiates Liquid Lumens from the competition? As a pioneer in the marine LED lighting market, Liquid Lumens has developed their own proprietary technology. It begins by taking the best elements of LED lighting and joining them with highly-advanced engineering and manufacturing processes from the aerospace industry. From there, Liquid Lumens applies their 3-step “Lumen-Boost” technology process to achieve a high level of quality and performance in both lumen output and candela rating that, until recently, was simply not possible.
The first step in creating the world’s best underwater lights begins with the Power Supply Box. It uses a pair of drivers designed to boost your boat’s standard 12V power supply. This process results in a higher output (either 25V or 34V depending on the LED color). This higher voltage means a more powerful LED can be installed.
The next step in creating the world’s best underwater lights is to put the higher voltage created in Step 1 to work. We use more powerful underwater LEDs than the ones that typical 12V systems can support. A more powerful LED means more lumens. And more lumens means more light — a lot more light!
The third step of the process involves aiming this more intense source light through a borosilicate glass focusing lens that results in more concentrated, high-output lighting. This light-focusing process increases the amount of light directed to where you want to use it, while simultaneously reducing wasted peripheral light.
When it comes to lighting, seeing is believing. Liquid Lumens will be joining Marine Products at the 2019 Utah Boat Show from February 7-10! Stop by to see us and check out the Liquid Lumens display. You can learn more about Liquid Lumens by visiting their website at www.liquidlumens.com.
Marine Products only partners with the most innovative, technologically-advanced companies in the marine industry. When we got our hands on a set of Liquid Lumens, we were sold. We couldn’t believe how much brighter and clearer the Liquid Lumens system was compared to other lights on the market. The equation is simple: More powerful light = more time on the lake, more time riding, and a better all-around experience.
Liquid Lumens’ products are ideal for fishing boats too! Did you know that one or two LED lights in a fixed color of green on the back of the boat not only provide in-water illumination, but they can actually attract fish? You can also choose Liquid Lumens Top-Side Lights, a dual LED strip light, available in a variety of colors and lengths, to suit your unique boat and needs. This dimmable LED strip can help illuminate fishing lines off the side of the boat, while fishing at night, or in low-light situations. In the future, we will work with Liquid Lumens to create and test LED strips on the front side of the bow for docking, or forward-facing illumination, for the dock, trailering, or beach applications.
Liquid Lumens’ advanced marine lighting will only be available in-store at Marine Products and at www.marine-products.com. The service team at Marine Products is a group of fully-certified Liquid Lumens installers and can have your new lighting installed in no time. You can also purchase a set of Liquid Lumens for your boat at this year’s Utah Boat Show & Watersports Expo! Liquid Lumens will be located inside the Marine Products booth with full lighting demos so you can be sure you’re making the best lighting choices that ensure brighter adventures ahead.

]]>The 2019 Moomba Max is 22’6” long and has a capacity of up to 17 people that can seat comfortably around the Max’s massive interior. But what really makes the Max special is its storage potential. Throughout the hull, you will find knee-deep storage compartments in a varieties of shapes and sizes for storing everything from wakeboards to wet life jackets and ropes. The Max also comes well equipped for a day on the water with a 65 gallon fuel tank and 3,000 lbs of sub-floor ballast.
The tower on the 2019 Moomba Max has been updated to the more modern A3 tower which was already in use for the Moomba Craz and the Moomba Mojo. The entire 2019 Moomba lineup now comes standard with the A3. The difference between the A2 and A3 tower? Height. No more bumping your head on the speakers moving around in the boat!
The Bimini on the 2018 Max worked well, but we felt like it was missing something. In 2019, the Max delivered by adding surf storage sleeves to make even more room for all of the wakesurf boards in your quiver.
The 2019 Moomba Max now comes standard with the previous year’s Supra vinyl. This upgrade makes your seats much more comfortable and the vinyl is much thicker so it gives the seating a more plush, luxurious feel.
For 2019, the Moomba lineup decided lifting seat cushions should be a thing of the past especially when it comes to something you use as much as your batter switch. The battery switch on all Supra and Moomba products is now located under the passenger side directly beside the captain’s chair.
The 2019 Max comes standard with snap-in carpet, but for a small upcharge, you can upgrade your Max with the latest GatorStep flooring products! Take your 2019 Max to the next level of luxury with this upgrade.
Though the Max has always prided itself on creating a fantastic wakeboard and surf wake, the engineers at Moomba knew that waterskiing is still a major focus for many boaters. The 2019 Max has a collapsible ski (or tube) pylon keeping with the theme of maximum versatility.
Storage is a key component to a successful day on the water. Does everyone have enough life jackets? Where are coolers going? Where should we put wet gear? For every question you hear over and over in your boat, the Max has an answer. With knee deep storage all around the boat (thanks to the sub-floor ballast) the Max has room for all your gear even if you have a tendency to overpack.
As we mentioned above, the new bimini on the 2019 Max is now outfitted with surf sleeves so you can store even more of your quiver on the boat.
The glove box on the Max is also enormous and has two access points. One access point is through the top of the passenger side dash and the other is from a side door next to the driver. This storage is great for keys, wallets, and any other valuables or personal items you want to keep safe and dry.
Dash Modifications for the 2019 Moomba Max
On the 2019, Moomba has made some serious driver experience improvements. All of the toggle switches are now the rocker switches you would normally expect to see in a Supra product.
The steering wheel for the Max has also been improved for 2019 and has a much more modern feel. However, the staple features like wake plate control and speed control mounted to the steering column.
Moomba kept the Fusion Bluetooth head unit in this year’s Max but did leave a 3.5mm headphone jack as well as a USB charger within reach.
The screen is an offset, 3.5”, color, touchscreen and contains all of your operational settings (i.e Swell, Autowake, GPS, and speed controls). This screen comes standard with soft-touch buttons which are used to navigate the paginated screens you will need to operate your new 2019 Max. With the touch of a button, you can now change between major readouts (like speed, temp, hours, etc.) to your wakeplate and ballast settings.
With Autowake 3.0 standard, you will be able to switch wake sides seamlessly to allow for all of those modern wakesurfing transfer tricks. In the Autowake screen, you will be able to see your pitch and roll and will always be aware of the exact settings so you can fine-tune your wake for your preferences and the type of activity you feel like doing on the fly.
To get the full effect of Autowake 3.0 and Flow 2.0 Moomba is now offering an upgrade to a 6 pump ballast system. This makes switching wake sides faster and allows you to fill and dump your ballast much more efficiently.
In 2019, every Moomba model now comes standard with WetSounds audio. From the interior speakers, to amps and subwoofers you’ll be getting high-quality sound with every Moomba. You can also option for WetSounds Rev 8’s for your new A3 tower.
The 2019 Moomba Max is perfect for the boaters that are looking to do it all with their large families and friend groups. With a capacity of up to 17 people and storage for even the deepest quivers, the Max will give you some of the best dollar for dollar value in the wake boat industry whether you ski, surf, or board.
Ready to pull the trigger on a new 2019 Moomba Max? Give us a call, schedule an appointment at the boat show to check it out, or come down to Marine Products to take a tour of the all new 2019 Moomba Max.
]]>The 2019 Supra SL is new, improved and one of the best all around wake boats in the industry thanks to its modified V bow that gives you some additional width for bow seating without the look of a wide bow boat. The new SL can also fit you and 17 of your closest friends without feeling underpowered or affecting the quality of the wake. Check out more of the review to see why we’ve dubbed the 2019 Supra SL “The Wake Monster.”
With 3,500 lbs of subfloor ballast, the SL doesn’t sacrifice storage for a better wake. Instead, Supra opted to have the entire ballast system under foot so you have room for wakeboards, wakesurfers, life vests, and all your other gear! With numbers like that, it’s easy to see why everyone that gets behind the SL is blown away. Add this improved ballast system to the Swell 3.0 Surf System and you’ll see how “The Wake Monster” got its name.
The new Swell 3.0 surf system allows you the unique ability to switch the side of your surf wake in under 1.5 seconds while being completely evenly weighted. This makes all those fun, new transfer tricks much easier. No more battling the wake or touching the rope to transfer! The center wakeplate is also a Supra staple and allows you to adjust the rough water ride of your boat or fine-tune your wake until it’s exactly the way you want it.
The last thing you want when you load down your new "Wake Monster" is to feel underpowered.
Every Supra that comes in the door at Marine Products is optioned with a 6.2L Roushcharged Raptor 575 by Indmar. By the numbers, this beast puts 580 ft/lbs of torque to the water every time you push on the throttle. Now you may be thinking: “sounds like a gas guzzler.” Not necessarily. Having torque numbers like the 6.2L allows you to use less throttle for your desired wake, speed, and activity. This motor coupled with an 83 gallon fuel cell allow you to spend all day on the water without a second thought of heading to the marina.
When you purchase a new Supra, you will have the option to add the surf pipe exhaust system. This exhaust pipe allows your exhaust fumes to enter through the water rather than hang in the air and into your rider’s face and lungs. This small option can also make your motor quieter so you can focus on what’s going on in the boat rather than hearing the droning of your motor.
Tired of fiddling with your boat fenders as you approach the dock? Hate the look of tangled boat fenders laying around? Supra has come up with the solution for you! The 2019 Supra SL comes with “Fender Pros” which are small hooks that allow you to pre-rig your boat fenders. These clips plug easily in and out of the hull of your SL to make docking and mooring a breeze. There are four fender pros on the side of the boat and two in the rear. The two Fender Pros in the rear make great GoPro mounts and can give you some angles the other cameras integrated into your transom and tower can’t.
The 2019 Supra SL can fit up to 18 passengers and has all kinds of fantastic, functional features for both storage and general usage. The SL comes standard with rear, convertible seats that are perfect for watching the kids swim around the boat or just relaxing in the back. These seats are built with high-quality hinges and easily fold from a seat back to flat with ease.
The passenger side seating also has a small flip up backrest so your passengers can get comfortable and watch the action on the wake.
All 2019 Supras are now available with the walk-through transom. This feature creates steps both in and out of the boat so you can easily go from the ski platform to the interior of the boat without losing your balance or stepping on your seats. This walk through can be exposed by quickly removing a center seat pad from the rear of the boat. It can be removed by opening the hinged storage on either side of the engine compartment and pulling it up.
With the new walkthrough, Supra didn’t remove the ski pylon! Instead, the pylon can now be pulled up out of the transom and, with a twist, will lock into place. Attaching ski and tube ropes has never been easier!
Remember that last step off of the walk through transom? It’s one of the most versatile interior options in the entire 2019 Supra lineup. Simply pull the step towards the bow of the boat and it will flip over to reveal a table. This flat surface is the perfect place to prepare lunch, store drinks, and even keep the kids entertained.
Don’t need the table? Pull the table towards the bow to reveal a rear-facing stadium seat perfect for watching your wakeboarders, wakesurfers, and waterskiers during their runs.
The 2019 SL wouldn’t be dubbed one of the, “best surf boats period” without room to store your boards, life vests, ropes, and other gear. Between the trunk, the hinge seats, and the integrated floor locker, the SL is sure to have room for all your gear to be stored out of the way so you have more room for friends and family!
By popular demand, the trunk has become a standard feature on all 2019 Supra models. This trunk space makes fantastic storage for wet gear including boards and vests so you can keep the interior of your boat as dry, and as organized, as possible. When closed, the trunk converts to a seat so you have a place to sit while you strap into your wakeboard or waterski.
The 2019 SL offers some amazing storage space in the interior of the boat. The seats on either side hinge up revealing a knee-deep storage area on each side of the boat. And remember, you also have the hinging compartments on either side of the motor as well! All ballast in the SL has been moved to sub-floor so you can say goodbye to fatsacs and other ballast bags for good! You also, as always, have the trash can/storage area directly behind the driver so you can keep your boat neat and organized all season long.
The Supra SL has cupholders and phone holders on both the starboard and port side. These cupholders have been enlarged to allow you to carry even the largest Yeti tumblers or coffee cups easily. You will also have specific phone holders so you won’t have to search every cupholder to locate your device.
The SL also includes a floor storage locker located between the driver and front passenger seats. This is a great place to store your AO Soft Cooler or any other gear you may need quick access to.
Supra has been partnering with PTM edge to bring the best racks in the industry to their boats for year. In 2019, PTM listened to their customers and made their 2019 rack system wider to accomodate even the largest wakesurf boards. The pivoting options you’ve always loved, new and improved for 2019!
JL Audio has partnered with Supra to bring their crisp, clean sound to all Supra models. For 2019, these speakers have all been built into their very own speaker box so you get a fantastic, full sound from your stereo. JL kitted out the Supra with 4 tower speakers, 2 bow speakers, 2 stern speakers, and a single subwoofer under the driver’s seat.
When you purchase a new Supra, it is one of the few wakeboats in the industry with a power seat. This seat can be adjusted via the new Vision Touch Dash system and can be moved and adjusted just like a power seat in your vehicle. Oh, and did we mention it was heated? No more cold runs out to your favorite surf spot! Just hit the seat warmer and feel the chill fade.
Our vote for the biggest improvement of 2019? The dash! The days of analog dials are officially over for Supra. In 2019, Supra opted for a dual screen display.
The horizontal (main) screen is 14” wide and puts everything you need to captain your vessel right at the tips of your fingers. This new display, with the touch of a button, allows you to cycle through your mapping, music, video, and AutoWake settings as well as keep track of all your major display items like RPM, water temp, battery life, fuel level, smart plate settings and more!
The secondary (vertical) screen reminds us of a multi function, paged, tablet. The displays are seamlessly navigable with settings for your audio equipment, lighting, AutoWake, and even seating adjustments including heat!
Hate missing out on the ride while you’re driving? The 2019 Supra SE comes standard with full GoPro integration with 2 seperate cameras, one at the transom, and one on the tower, so you won’t miss a moment of the action even when you need to look out for what’s ahead. The tower camera has also been relocated slightly to avoid conflict with Supra’s full coverage bimini.
No more captain’s arm! This year’s 2019 SE has a much larger armrest so you will feel supported all day long from the dock to full throttle runs to and from your favorite surfing spot.
If you’re looking for a wake boat that can handle anything you can throw at it from wakesurfing, to wakeboarding, and everything in between, look no further than the 2019 Supra SL. From the interior functionality to the power and performance you need for a great day on the lake, you’ll be hard pressed to find a more versatile boat anywhere. The 2019 SL is “one of the best surf boats period” and has earned its title around the shop of “The Wake Monster.”

]]>The 2019 Supra SE is all new from the ground up! Taking what Supra learned from the SA, they have implemented the aggressive styling and redesigned hull creating a boat that not only looks incredible, but has the performance to back it up. This hull was designed to not only improve your wakeboarding and wakesurfing wakes, but also to reduce the chance of taking one of those dreaded bow shots with it’s new bow height.
The interior has also been completely reworked with improved storage options, ChillTech Vinyl, contrast stitching, integrated GoPro technology, and more to truly allow you to customize your Supra from the ground up.
The rear flip seat has been a staple the past few years in Supras and it’s back by popular demand! You can use the convertible rear seat as either:
When you’re done, just fold it back into its step position so it is out of the way!
A boat with a flat back can be difficult to climb in and out of at times. The new SE wanted to change that. The 2019 SE now comes standard with a “walk-over” transom allowing for easy access from the swim deck to the interior of the boat. No more standing on the rear pad and trying to keep your balance!
Supra didn’t want to lose the ability to have a ski pylon with the new walk-over transom so, they made it collapsible. Give it a twist and it will pop up or give it another twist and it will disappear flush to the transom walk-over so you won’t trip over it getting in and out of the boat.
In the past, you had to choose between comfort and style when it came to your boat’s interior. Remember the days when having dark colored seats was a death sentence for your thighs in the summer? In the past, you would want a light colored vinyl that will disperse heat more effectively in the summer without turning into a skillet. The only drawback to light colored seats? They show dirt and grime much more easily.
In 2019, with the introduction of ChillTech, your comfort and personal style can go hand in hand. ChillTech is a modern take on vinyl that actually cools when you touch it. You can now opt for a gray, black, or dark brown interior without the fear of your boat rivaling temperatures on the surface of the sun. With these darker color options becoming viable, say goodbye to those easily stained white seats for good!
Want to make your new Supra feel truly custom? With your 2019 SE interior, you are now able to choose the stitching color that will run through your new ChillTech vinyl. You’re getting a lake limo, you shouldn’t have to settle for any less than a full customization.
If you haven’t stepped foot in the new SE, it’s an experience in itself. The 2019 is seriously huge. With plenty of space for you and 17 friends, you won’t be leaving anyone on shore. “What about all the gear?” you may ask. Can I really store that much? The simple answer, is yes. The new SE offers full hinge systems in each storage area to make accessing your gear easier than ever. Just like the past years, Supra has included areas for your trash can, dry storage, wet storage, and (for 2019) they have also made their cupholders larger and deeper to fit even the biggest Yeti tumblers. Also new for 2019, dedicated cell phone holders. No more crawling around in the boat looking for your phone in the a random cup holder!
The 2019 Supra SE bow storage is now fully hinged for your convenience. It’s also incredibly deep allowing ample space for all your gear. What about the filler cushion? For 2019, the bow filler cushion can be used in 3 different ways:
The 2019 SE comes standard with all of the hinged transom storage you are used to seeing on Supra boats on either side of the motor, but after popular demand, the SE now includes trunk storage!
In 2016, Supra introduced trunk storage in the SA model and you, the customers, have asked Supra to make this standard on all models. In 2019, Supra delivered. The trunk can store all kinds of gear from surfboards, to lifejackets, and everything in between. At Marine Products, we have found this storage specifically useful for lifevests, ropes, gloves, and any other wet items you may not want to drag into your interior. The trunk also makes a great seat when you want to put on your wakeboard before exiting the boat.
For 2019, Supra introduced the all new floor storage locker for the SE. This is a deep compartment between located just behind the driver’s seat in the middle of the walkthrough. We suggest using this area for your AO soft cooler. It fits perfectly!
And remember, every Supra comes with the Swell 3.0 Surf System standard. This technology allows you to switch your wake from one side of the boat to the other in under 1.5 seconds. The 2019 SE also comes standard with Supra’s wakeplate system which can help you adjust your rough water ride and fine tune your wake.
Your new SE from Marine Products comes standard with a surf pipe exhaust system. This system puts the exhaust created by your boat into the water before it exits the vehicle. This not only helps with a quieter ride, it also allows you to surf, wakeboard, and ski without eating those potentially harmful exhaust fumes.
The last thing you want when you load down your new lake limo is to feel underpowered.
Every Supra that comes in the door at Marine Products is optioned with a 6.2L Roushcharged Raptor 550 by Indmar.
The 2019 SE comes standard with 4,100 lbs of ballast and this year, it’s all subfloor! No more FatSacs, no more led weight, just set it and forget it. Couple this with AutoWake and you have yourself a lake limo that doesn’t compromise when it comes to performance or style.
For 2019, the new Supra SE comes standard with PTM edge’s all new swiveling board racks. The rack’s fork spacing has been sized up by over ½” in 2019 to accommodate larger surfboards that were a struggle to mount in previous years.
The SE has always come with JL Audio standard, but in 2019 they have stepped up their game. All of the speakers in the 2019 SE are integrated into their very own speaker box giving you a fuller, cleaner sound. The rear speakers are now 8.8” and the bow speakers are 6.5”. The SE also comes standard with a single 12” subwoofer mounted under the dash, but if that’s just not enough sound for you, you can option for a second 12” sub under the observer side dash.
After spending some time with the SE and checking out all of it’s new, luxurious features, we can confidently say, if you are looking for boat over 24 ft, you’re going to have a hard time beating the new 2019 Supra SE.

As the cost of boats continues to rise, more and more consumers are looking to do more initial research, purchase their dream boat right out of the gate, and keep it for a longer period of time. Some boats are even being passed generationally! It’s more important than ever to be sure your boat purchase is well informed, well thought out, and executed with your best interests in mind.
“Value” doesn’t mean you should go out looking for the most inexpensive boat in the classifieds. In fact, purchasing a boat this way can end up providing less relative “value” than a more substantial investment into a boat that will last longer with fewer problems. At the same time, you shouldn’t take on purchasing the most expensive model possible either (unless that's what you're looking for). As a purchaser, you will need to determine what your priorities truly are and what price point you can afford comfortably. Your boat’s value stems from finding a boat that fits your needs as closely as possible, not the sticker price.
Luckily, modern fishing and towboats have begun to show a reduction in depreciation compared to their past counterparts. Modern boats are produced at a much higher quality than ever before and, with proper maintenance, are lasting longer and holding more of their value for a longer period of time. Some boats may even show such little depreciation that very little of your initial investment may be lost even 5-10 years down the road. This is especially true when buying used. Purchasing a pre-owned boat can effectively eliminate depreciation in some cases. Some pre-owned purchasers are able to turn around a few years down the road and sell the same boat for exactly what they bought it for initially.
Modern boats can be very complex and come with so many features like Autowake, the Swell Surf System, wake plates, fish finding tech, and more. These features can, at times, be difficult to keep track of and assign a direct “value” to. These features can make finding a long-term value more complicated especially when manufacturers are pushing the envelope every single year coming out with more and more great features. This, again, comes back to understanding your needs and choosing a boat that meets your budget and your needs, not choosing the highest (or lowest) sticker price.
One of the best ways to define value beyond your needs is accurate, fair comparison. When you compare, be sure that you are comparing boats that fall into the same type and class. This helps keep your focus on the features that matter to you and the price point you are searching for. You wouldn’t compare a Ferrari to a Geo, so why do it when it comes to purchasing your boat? Accurate comparisons of similar models can help you see where you feel the most “value” is added for your specific needs.
Before you can even begin to compare the features of your options, you will need to determine the type of boat meets your needs most effectively. Are you looking for an outboard, inboard, or sterndrive? A wake boat or a fishing boat? Think of shopping for a boat like purchasing a new vehicle. How much space do you need? What are your must-haves? What are your "nice-to-haves?" If you’re not sure which type of boat best suits your needs, step back and ask yourself honestly, “What do I want my boat to be capable of?” If you are still undecided, your local boat dealership can help you understand the intricacies and differences between different brands, models, and classes.
Once you have determined the type of boat you are looking for, it’s time to get into the weeds. The class of your boat can make the pricing and features of each boat vastly different. Understanding your needs becomes more important than ever when you begin to dig into the details of your dream boat.
Classes can be confusing, so we suggest making a pro and con list for each model you are interested in. This is an easy way to see where you are willing to compromise and what your “must-haves” truly lie. The three factors that traditionally determine a class of a boat are size, quality or functionality, and price. If you still aren't sure which class makes the most sense for you, come talk to us and our expert team will be sure to set you up with the right boat for the right price.
The Perfect Fit
A great place to start your comparisons can be the overall length of the boat. How much space do you need for passengers? Are you constantly on the water with family and friends or do you prefer a nice solo morning on the lake at your favorite fishing hole? Some modern wake boats are boasting capacities of 16 or more while others are better suited for 5-10. This can be one of the easiest places to begin your search and begin to define your class specifc needs.
Price & Performance
The number one rule in boating is never purchase an underpowered boat; you will regret it from the second you get on the water. Always be sure that the boats you are comparing have the same (or very similar) engines and that the engines meet your performance expectations.
A quick trick to determining if two boats are similarly priced for the performance they provide is to take the overall (dry) weight of the boat and divide it by the overall price. This is obviously not a perfect science, but it can quickly tell you whether one of the boats you are comparing are significantly over (or under) priced.
You may be asking yourself, “why are we worried about this math?” Though it should not be THE factor that influences your purchase, it will give you peace of mind knowing that the boats you are comparing have a similar price point if they are the same class. It is just meant to be a quick, in the ballpark calculation to be sure you are not paying too much for similar features and performance.
With a calculation so general, you should not directly rule out an anomaly. Anomalies are common and can have many factors including hardware, quality of materials, fixtures, and “standard” features. When an anomaly occurs, don’t give up. Typically the differences here are easy to account for with some additional research into the specific features of each boat.
Everyone searching for a boat is searching for one thing: the best value for the money. However, you shouldn’t compromise quality just to save a few bucks or you will end up disappointed, and be on the hunt for a new boat in a couple of years. You don’t want to wind up with your upholstery falling apart, your wiring shorting out, or outdated tech holding your boat back from its true potential.
Investing a bit of extra money during a purchase can pay out huge dividends throughout the years especially when it comes to reliability. Time (and money) lost on repairs and tinkering should be time spent on the water and money spent on upgrades. This consideration is especially important when comparing pre-owned boats. You don't want to be stuck at the shop when you could be out enjoying your purchase.
Standard vs. Optional Features
Every modern boat company is trying to make their brand the most attractive to you, the buyer. Some play the price point game offering lower costs with less "standard" features while others include more fancy features focusing on higher price point "luxury" models.
These options can be a difficult balance as many of them come down less to performance and more toward the individual aesthetic and ease of use. You should quantify these standard vs. optional features between the boats you are comparing. How much are you really paying for that standard boat. Is there value to purchasing the “loaded” option?
Often to make these calculations, Google will be your best friend. Many items that come standard and optional on modern towboats and fishing boats can be found online as individual, aftermarket items. Then, set a dollar amount to your features. This can be a more in-depth way to compare your boat options feature for feature and determine which model (or class) delivers the most value for your specific use case and needs. You can also ask your dealer to explain the pricing differences and help you evaluate where the variations lie and which options will truly be worth additional investment.
Overall Utility vs. Specific Usage
“Utility” can be difficult to compare especially when you are using your boat for a very specific purpose. This may not even be a consideration if you are looking for “the best wakesurfing boat” or the “best boat for trolling.” Often utility is a consideration for those owners that want to be able to take on multiple uses. Other utility considerations should include: does the helm seat feel comfortable? Is there enough room for your typical group on a day of boating? Is the boat easy to get into (this can be an especially large concern if your typical group includes elderly relatives or smaller children)? Does the storage meet your needs or was it made for ants? Answering no to these questions can signal a lack of utility in either the class or the type of boat you are looking for.
Performance, Fuel Economy, and Range
No one wants their first trip out with their new boat feeling like they don’t have the power they were hoping for. Understanding the proper power needed for your specific use case can drastically affect the pricing and performance of your options. When it comes to our Supra and Moomba lines at Marine Products, you’ll never need to worry. We option out most of the Supra boats we stock with the Roushcharged Raptor 575 by Indmar making sure that no matter what elevation you choose to surf, board, or ski in that you’re covered. If you’re interested in Alumacraft, you’ll never have to worry. You have total control over your motor selection and you can specifically dial in your power needs.
To answer your question of over vs. underpower, ask yourself, “what is my boat’s mission in life?” This will help you to determine what the most important performance needs for your situation are (i.e. cruising speed, MPG, overall range, time to plane, etc.). We can help you decide what your performance numbers should look like and how we can help you achieve your boating goals within your budget.
Though it may seem overkill, having the correct prop on your boat can make all the difference in the world. At Marine Products, we’ll help you decide which prop matches your performance standards most effectively.
Supra and Moomba boats come with a lifetime hull warranty and the entire Alumacraft line comes with a 20 year warranty and our outboards will vary in warranty length based on the manufacturer you choose. Warranty can be extremely important for a large purchase as it can save you thousands on maintenance if a major part fails. You don’t want to be stuck with a repair bill when a manufacturer warrantied part goes out.
When you purchase a new boat, you will also need to find a local dealership you can trust to not only set you up with the best boat for your needs, but that can also service your boat in a timely fashion. Dealer reputation is extremely important when it comes to your new boat purchase. Even the best boat brands can be a hassle to service if your dealership does not have a solid reputation and a fantastic service department.
Unfortunately, the purchase price of your new boat can also determine the quality of service you receive at some dealerships. Make sure that when you choose a dealership, they have a service staff that can get projects completed quickly and that your sales manager is responsive, addresses any concerns you may have, and is actively looking out for your interests no matter what the sticker price of your boat may be. A boat is an significant investment, make sure you’re not going in alone. Your dealer will be your source for issues, questions, concerns, parts, and everything in between.
If you want to be satisfied with your boat purchase, you need to know yourself and understand what values mean the most to you (aesthetics, performance, features, tech, price). Be sure you’re always focused on thinking ahead. You may not want to be climbing up a ladder in 10 years, your family may be growing or shrinking, or you may be looking for the lowest cost to own. No matter what your priorities are, you should always buy a boat for the right reasons.
The importance of family time and a true passion for your chosen sport are two things that will never fade. For most of us, it’s about the memories we make in the boat more than the boat itself. Your children will get older and may have children of their own. If your boat has long-term value, you will be able to share the fun and memories of boating generationally. Nothing is more gratifying than realizing that your decision helped bring your family and friends closer together.
Once you have concluded your research and have decided on the towboat or fishing boat of your dreams, our experts can help you get into the perfect boat that is sure to meet your needs and help you make memories for years to come. Give us a call to set up your dream boat test drive today!

]]>Ken took this state-of-the-art towboat out to Lake Powell for a day on the majestic Colorado River, right on the border of Utah and Arizona. More than just some great scenery and a chill time on the water, he was kind enough to run down some of the best features the boat has to offer.
To give everyone a little background, the Supra SL 550 is a modern marvel of engineering—starting with the streamlined design of the craft itself. This boat comes in at 23' 5"in overall length, with capacity for 17! It’s powered by a 6.2L Raptor by Indmar and delivers all the torque you want out of a towboat of this caliber.
Ken’s video shows just how simple and efficient the controls are on the Supra SL. Not only are there instant toggles for swell and wake plate adjustments right on the steering wheel itself, zero-off GPS cruise control is just a press away. For everything else, you can toggle settings, adjustments and presets on the gorgeous Vision touch amplitude display.
While the boat itself is a marvel to look at, it’s the amazing technology powering the Supra SL 550 that takes it to another level. Ken details a few of the craft’s programmable features in his video, but there’s so much more to love:
With other features like automatic depth detection, customizable ride profiles, pitch and roll adjustments, and wave amp configuration, you can program your ideal wakeboarding experience no matter the conditions!
Ken’s video does a great job of showing just how decked-out the sound system of the Supra SL 550 really is. JL Audio has gone all-out to ensure sound clarity and integrity. Passengers can enjoy the music from two 7.7” JL Audio speakers in the bow, while wakeboarders will feel the adrenaline of their favorite jams blasting from four massive 8.8” tower speakers. A transom-mounted audio remote gives you immediate control over the tunes.
Even the storage capabilities of the Supra SL 550 are sexy! Toss your board into the PTM edge billet swivel clamping board rack or, for crowded boats, utilize the surf storage offered by the bimini—it provides eight feet of coverage and room for two surf boards. Need to house even more? Kick open the transom surf storage locker!
As Ken and countless others have quickly found out, the Supra SL 550 is the full package. From the sleek design of its FxONE power folding tower and wake plates, to the industry-leading technology it offers with just the press of a button, this boat is a wakeboarder’s dream!

The 550 is powered by Indmar’s Roushcharged Raptor 575 and comes with all the standard features you’ve come to expect from the Supra lineup like AutoWake, the FxOne power folding tower, and JL audio. The SL 550 also includes all the tech to make dialing in the wake, from the beginner to the expert rider, simple with AutoWake and the Vision Touch system.
For boards, the theme of high performance on the water is alive and well. Ronix is hooking Deron up with two top-of-the-line Carbon Skimmers to take his wakesurfing to the next level.
“I chose Supra because they build the best wake boat hands down,” explained Deron Williams, NBA All-Star and Olympic Gold Medalist. “A Supra boat produces the best wake, has the smoothest ride and delivers the most power available with its Roushcharged Raptor by Indmar. Supra Boats are innovators in every way. They have the best styling, genuine quality and performance of any boat I’ve ever seen or experienced on the water.” Williams further explained, “A good friend of mine that used to work for Marine Products told me that if I was looking for a boat, that Marine Products would take care of me. He wasn’t lying. They made my experience of buying a boat a breeze and ensured I got everything needed for my family to have a great time on the water.”
With Williams’ NBA career winding down, he was searching for a new hobby that would still embrace his inner adrenaline junkie and he found it with wakeboarding and wakesurfing. Deron also wanted to spend more time with his family and couldn’t think of a better place than on the water piloting the best wake boat in the business.

About Indmar Marine Engines
Indmar is the world’s largest privately held manufacturer of gasoline powered inboard marine engines. Indmar has a pedigree going back over 40 years in the inboard marine industry and a proud tradition of pointing the way forward. Indmar was the first inboard manufacturer to deliver fuel injection, custom calibrated engines and the first to produce an inboard engine with a catalyzed exhaust; which is now the industry standard. Today, this legendary brand delivers an inimitable mix of unrivaled performance, meticulous craftsmanship and groundbreaking innovations – charting a course for others to follow, yet leaving the competition behind. Indmar operates advanced manufacturing facilities in the U.S. with distributing centers in Millington, TN, Merced, CA and Nowra, Australia. For more information, please visit www.indmar.com.
The 2018 Supra SL 550 build started out with the upgrade of one of the best marine engines in the game: the 6.2L Roush Supercharged V8 Raptor 575 motor by Indmar. This motor lays down an astonishing 580 ft/lbs of torque and has 527 horsepower. This motor has the power to take on any rider profile, at any speed, with any wake shape and comes with a 5 year factory warranty.
This is the same state-of-the-art engine powering the F-Series Super Duty Trucks that boasts best-in-class gas mileage, horsepower, and max tow ratings.
The 6.2L Raptor by Indmar provides best in class torque and horsepower at all RPM ranges. This motor gives you the ability to push the weight demands of the sport while still providing the speed and power you’ve come to expect from Supra boats.
Something that is truly special about Indmar’s Raptor motor is the marine specific oil pan and pick-up tube. This allows control over how the oil in your motor moves event at high-G turns. With the 575 Raptor by Indmar, you never have to worry about oil starvation again.
This new exhaust profile boats a carbon monoxide (and other harmful exhaust gasses) reduction of up to 90%. Not only does this option reduce the gasses you inhale as a rider, it also improves the sound of your ride. No more struggling to hear your stereo, but with this 575 from Indmar, you won’t be lacking in sound to begin with.
It wouldn’t be a true Marine Products custom without some upgrades. From the interior design to folding tower, this boat is truly designed with the rider in mind.
Getting to the dock after a long day of riding shouldn’t be stressful. We kitted this custom Supra out with LED docking lights to make sure that you can see, and be seen, after dusk or early in the morning.
Standing out has never been easier especially when it gets dark. For Ken Block’s new Supra, we made sure that it was outfitted with blue, underwater transom lights to make seeing the wake, even at night, a breeze. You also can’t deny that it sure looks good once the light gets low!
Being behind the wheel of a Supra is truly an original experience. Take a seat in the captain’s chair and you’ll have everything you need to take command of your new Supra.
When you activate the new Vision Touch system standard with your new Supra, you can see everything your boat is doing from ballast and surf settings, to diagnostic reports and even queueing up your favorite playlist to blast on your sound system.
A concept that has been around for years in vehicles on the road is making the jump to the marine industry. With integrated steering wheel controls you have access to your stereo, surf, and even your wake plate without ever taking your hands off the wheel.
Setting your height and heat preferences is as easy as setting your preferences on the Vision Touch interface. Even the co-pilot gets the benefit in a new 2018 Supra.
This Supra wouldn’t have been complete without a little bit of added flair to the tower. We opted to install the new FxONE tower in white, but upgraded some pieces with a black to complete the look with the custom wrap. Looking for the perfect color to match your setup? With 11 color options available, the new FxONE is sure to be the perfect upgrade for any new Supra.
One of the best features of this new tower is the standard swivel board racks. The new PTMEdge racks are able to rotate inboard and lock in place to help you get the most space out of your boat while providing easier access to all your favorite boards.
The new Supra Bimini system takes the hassle out adding shade to your boat. There are no pins to remove when stowing or deploying and can be easily put on or taken off in minutes.
The new Bimini from Supra is so easy you only need one person to stow or deploy! Each piece firmly clicks into place and latches using an internal mechanism.
Ken’s new Supra has been decked out when it comes to audio. Every Supra comes with a standard JL Audio Premium Sound System. For a custom build, this just wasn’t enough for us. In addition to the speakers that come standard with the new Supra SL, we added 2 10” subs and four 8.8” tower speakers to keep the vibes and the tunes going all day long.
Want to ride a wave like the pros? Autowake 2 is here to make your dreams a reality. The same advancements that propel professional wakeboard and wakesurf athletes comes standard on every Supra!
The second generation AutoWake includes predictive state tech that will actually measure and adjust your ballast settings before you even leave the dock.

]]>A long-time outdoor enthusiast, Ken Block is pleased to announce a massive improvement to his summer fun at home in Park City, Utah: a new relationship for 2018 with Marine Products and Supra Boats.
For this summer’s boating season, Block made the decision to partner with Marine Products and to get behind the wheel of a 2018 Supra SL, powered by a 6.2L Ford Raptor motor that’s been finessed by Indmar for marine usage and features a Roush supercharger, generating 580 lb-ft of perfect wake-creating torque.
“I made the decision earlier this year that I wanted to get myself and my family into the absolute best boat on the water for this summer,” said Block. “We love hitting the local lakes around Park City, as well as heading down to Lake Powell every summer, and now that my kids are getting bigger, they’re really getting into wakeboarding and wake surfing. When doing my research and in speaking with the folks over at Marine Products, Supra came to the top of the list—especially since there’s the option for that supercharged Raptor V8! Plus, I think this boat matches nicely with my matte black Ford F450 that we’re using to haul it this season. I’m really looking forward to getting this thing out there this week and making some waves.”
With Block being Block, a stock-appearing Supra SL wouldn’t be enough. He’s outfitted his with a custom wrap to match his racecars for this current season—pictured here with his 90’s Ford Escort RS Cosworth WRC rally car featuring artwork originally designed by Death Spray Custom out of the U.K., as well as collaborating with Marine Products on an exclusive pair of t-shirts to match, available soon at https://marine-products.com/.
]]>The quagga mussel is a freshwater mussel that can live up to 3-5 years. This particular species of mussel is extremely invasive and is a major concern for lakes all around the country. The quagga mussel shell is striped or zig zagged and is paler toward the edge of the shell. The quagga mussel, once introduced to a non-native area, can decrease the food sources for other water dwelling species and can permanently alter the food chain in any water source. For every pound of prey fish swimming some affected lakes today, there are an estimated three or four pounds of quaggas clustering on the lake bed.
Quagga mussels aren’t just bad for fish, they’re also very hard on the infrastructure of your favorite lakes and rivers. Quaggas can clog water intakes and take over docks, boats, buoys and can even make some of your favorite beaches impassable.
Decontaminating your boat is as simple as: clean, drain, dry. If you have been in contaminated water, like Lake Powell, you must follow these steps or have your boat professionally decontaminated before you will be allowed to launch in another body of water.
When you are cleaning your vessel, be sure that you have removed all plants, animals, mud, and any other foreign objects that are attached to your boat after a day on the lake. You should then thoroughly wash your entire boat including all crevices and hidden areas on your boat and equipment.
Follow these steps to ensure your boat is clean and ready for its next adventure:
Be sure that after you come off of Lake Powell or another affected body of water that all wells, ballast, and engine cooling water is drained on location. Do not drain your system once you are already at the next lake or river.
You should drain the following areas before leaving water access:
Drying takes longer than you think. You should either dry your boat with a towel or leave your boat to dry in the sun for 5-7 days before you reuse your boat.
You should dispose of unwanted bait and fish parts in the trash. If you keep live bait, follow the drain step and be sure that you also drain your bait container and replace the water with spring or tap water.
If you are going to use any type of chemical, be sure that it is the correct cleaning solution for the varying surfaces of your boat. We carry lines of boat cleaning products that are safe for every surface on your watercraft from the upholstery to the hull. However, these chemicals may not be effective against invasive species and the same care and steps will need to be taken above.
Don’t feel confident enough or have the time to decontaminate your boat? No problem. The Jordanelle State Park team can decontaminate your boat for you. All you need to do is call and set up an appointment to have your boat decontaminated to be sure that it is quagga and zebra mussel free before you hit the lake. To set up an appointment, call (435) 649-9540.

#WhyWeRide is a new initiative that Marine Products is taking on to get back to the basics. Yes, all tech is great when you’re out on the water and need that perfect wake, but there’s more to a day on the lake than just the board you’re riding or the lifevest you’re wearing. #WhyWeRide is all about making memories with the entire family, spending time with loved ones and friends, and most importantly creating unforgettable experiences.
Marine Products partnered with the Chabad Lubavitch of Utah to give away a day on the lake and a full wake package to the winners of the #WhyWeRide giveaway. The family received a Ronix Fish wakesurf board, a Ronix District wakeboard package, and got to spend 3 hours at the Mountain Side Wake School learning from our resident wake experts. The family also got the opportunity to demo some other great wakeboards and wakesurfs including the Liquid Force Keen Skim and the Liquid Force Primo.
"We just wanted to say thank you very much, I spend the whole day yesterday talking to everyone and saying how amazing our experience was!" - Michelle Delouya
This year, Marine Products will be featuring some of the best user-submitted photos and stories on our social media channels. To participate in the #WhyWeRide initiative, upload the best photos of your days on the lake and use the hashtags #WhyWeRide and #MPMafia and be sure to tag @MarineProducts on Instagram!
]]>Rocker is, in its most basic form, how the board is curved when placed on a flat surface like a table or bench. There are a three main types of rocker that you should know about: continuous, hybrid, and 3 stage rocker.
The first rocker profile we will discuss is the continuous profile. This profile just means there will be a single curve from the tip to the tail. A wakeboard with a continuous rocker profile will provide a very smooth ride while still being highly predictable. Continuous rocker also makes your board feel consistent.
The single curvature of continuous rocker helps your board cut through the water with less friction which allows you to keep your speed as you approach the wake. If you’re looking for a wakeboard that will take on the wake to flat, continuous rocker is the profile you should consider.
When you lay a 3-stage rocker board on the ground, the profile will look very different from the continuous rocker profile. When looking at a 3-stage rocker board, the center section of the board will be flat on the ground. At the end of this flat center section, the tip and tail of the board will have a much more aggressive rise angle. This rise angle creates a “bump” or “kink” in the board’s profile. On the wake, the continuous rocker and 3-stage rocker ride very similarly. The difference lies in the pop off the wake.
A 3-stage rocker will hit the wake and pop creating a wake to wake style of ride rather than wake-to-flat like the continuous rocker profile. The 3-stage rocker profile does create more friction on the water, so a bit of speed will be sacrificed. The trade-off for more friction is an explosive pop off of the wake.
When you shop for a new wakeboard, you may see rocker options like “mellow 3-stage” or “hybrid continuous.” Don’t let the options overwhelm you. Trust in your basic rocker knowledge and see that these are all just small variations of one of the major rocker profiles discussed above.
These “hybrid” style boards are always pushing to give you the rideability and consistency of a continuous rocker with the charging, aggressive pop of a 3-stage rocker. These profile options can be great for riders that want to do it all from hitting the jump line course to lake and river tow days.
The type of camber that will be best for you can be determined by a few different factors including riding style and experience level. Generally, continuous boards are great for beginners and speedsters alike. The continuous rocker allows you to generate lots of speed in the flat and have a consistent wake approach. Continuous rocker is also great for those riders that want to have that smooth carving Cadillac ride or for the riders that like to get extra sendy and pop way out into the flat off of the wake.
A 3-stage rocker wakeboard is for the rider that loves to pop high up and stomp those big-time aerial tricks. The rocker allows a much higher-arc off of the wake allowing more time for tricks and a softer landing on the opposite side of the wake.
Now that we’ve taken you through these rocker profiles, here is a quick guide to help you with the basics:
Want to learn more about all the rocker options that are available and get set up with the perfect wakeboard package to make your 2018 season a success? Give us a call and one of our wakeboard experts can get you on the right board for your riding style!
